On March 4th, 2008, our sweet old man was born. Rocky was a wedding gift from a family friend and he was by far the best gift we received. This shedding, barking, stubby little guy has been such a blessing to our family. He always greets us with a happy dance and has a big ole heart.
Last March, right after his 12th birthday, we noticed he was acting a bit strange. He wasn’t greeting us at the door and wasn’t responding the way he use to. The vet confirmed what we knew – RooRoo had lost his hearing. But he may have lost his hearing but he didn’t lose his heart. This guy is such a trooper. He realized he couldn’t hear so he started strategically placing himself in our paths so if we went to another room he could follow.
About a month ago I reached out to Devin with D. Hayman Photography with a crazy idea I had. I wanted to do a 13th birthday pawty for our official teenager. She was down and off to Amazon I went.
I’m talking balloon banner, piƱata, cake smash, a birthday board, AND matching family t-shirts. Oh, and I made him a baby book when he was a puppy so we also busted that out.
Yea buddy.
While this sounds all fun, I assure you, it was chaos. Thankfully, Devin is a wizard and managed to make our family look not only put together but captured this little pawty just how I wanted. Devin – you rock.
It’s hard to believe Rocky is 13. He has been with my husband and me through so much and he has truly brought us so much joy.
Rocky. RooRoo. Roco-Taco. Don’t get it twisted old man, you may think you are the lucky one, but sweet boy WE are the lucky ones. We love you so much!
