After quite a few reschedules, ROBB AND CAITLYNNE ARE MARRIED!!!!!
I had no idea when I did their engagement session in November 2019 that I wouldn’t see them again until April 2, 2021 (unfortunately, sans Reggie. But don’t you worry, we checked in on Reggie during the reception – be on the lookout for that photo!). What a wild ride this has been!
Robb and Caitlynne are high school sweethearts and this wedding was 17 years in the making. Over the last year and a half I had the honor of getting to know them (mostly via social media) but also at their wedding. Their love story is so unique and so stinking sweet.
In their own words:
“Caitlynne moved to Mooresville, NC and started school at Lake Norman High about four weeks into her sophomore year. Luckily, she made a quick friend with a kid on the school bus named Zach Bailey who lived just a couple streets over. When Caitlynne’s parents decided they wanted to throw her a big 16th birthday bash that December, she didn’t have enough friends to invite to her party. So she turned to Zach to ask for help and one of the people he suggested inviting was Robb (then “Robby”) Porter. With Zach’s help, about ten people showed up to be whisked around downtown Charlotte in a bright yellow Hummer stretch limo for four hours to celebrate Caitlynne turning 16. Robby was a bit intimidated at being invited to a milestone birthday celebration for a girl he hardly knew and turned to his older sister Lindsay for help in finding an acceptable gift. With a multicolored wool scarf from The Gap safely secured, Robby showed up at the party and was eager to get to know this beautiful girl who had an obsession with the Dave Matthews Band and whitewater rafting. Caitlynne was impressed by Robby’s easy going manner, quick humor, and deep knowledge of classic rock. A few months later, Caitlynne and Robby went on their first official date.”
It was a chilly, but beautiful April day and the entire day was full of laugher and tears. Caitlynne looked stunning in her Morilee dress, complete with pockets and Robb looked so dapper in his The Black Tux suit.
Some of my favorite touches include the beautiful brooches used on the bouquets. The brooches belonged to their grandmothers and were such a sweet way to include her in the day. There were 4 toasts given – her dad’s had us all in tears, and their childhood friend’s had us all laughing.
Caitlynne & Robb – YOU GUYS! YOU DID IT! What a weird year it has been for us all but the day finally came. I am so beyond thankful to be able to capture your special day and to get to know both of you.
