This downtown Toronto session is going down in the books as one of my most memorable sessions ever. As you may know, Vince and I went to Toronto at the beginning of the month (read more here) and while we were there I met up with Melissa and Colin in the Distillery District for a couples session! I “met” Melissa online through a creatives group we are in called The Rising Tide Society. The purpose of the group is to build community over competition among creative entrepreneurs and I have had the privilege to connect with so many wonderful people through it! I was so excited to work with a fellow RTS member and to photograph a session in a new country.
We decided to take some photos in the Distillery District a few days before I flew out, what we didn’t plan on was how cold it was going to be! Being born and raised in South Carolina, my blood isn’t thick enough to handle that kind of cold! Colin and Melissa were troopers though and I had so much fun working with them!
These two love birds met at the gym and have never had professional photos together. I was so nervous because this session was very different for me. First, I’ve never shot a true “winter” session with heavy coats and I had to shoot with gloves on – such a weird feeling! Second, I was in a new country and had never been to the area we choose. And third, I mean, they are incredibly good-looking. Noooooo pressure 😉
Nerves were completely worthless because these two were so easy going! They endured the cold and wandered all over the district with me. I have fallen in love with Toronto and I can’t wait to go back!
